ABOUT GRAPHIC ARTIST...
Born in Normandie, France, affichiste (lit. "poster designer") Astrid Chevallier studied fine art in Paris which led her to explore many visual mediums.
After working as a graphic designer and assistant photographer in advertising agencies, and teaching in a design school for adults in Paris, she started to design posters for cities and theatrical plays. She developed a unique style by mixing painted elements with photographs and textures, and by using typography as a graphic element, which brought her national notoriety.
Astrid relocated to Los Angeles in 2002, freelanced for many advertising agencies, and developed the creative aspect of Purple Red, a small design studio with an edge. Bringing her European influences and her conceptual vision to the table, she has been creating movie posters for major Hollywood Studios, award-winning independent film productions and short films.
Astrid Chevallier’s style stands out by bringing a conceptual or a design twist that emphasizes an emotional aspect of the subject in a design.
