GALLERY PREVIEW
The Exhibition displays 42 posters related to shows events and movies, designed by the French graphic artist Astrid Chevallier.
Most of them are bus-shelter size, or 40x60.
Some original artwork is also shown, along with some research material including paintings and graphic elements.
COLLATERAL MATERIAL
A video interview of the artist that has been shot in Paris a week before the opening, and has been run during the show.
The students at IUT-3 have written, designed and produced a website related to the exhibition, a CD-Rom and a catalogue.
LECTURE
Astrid Chevallier gave a public lecture on March 18,2004.
The main themes were about design research and the implication of the graphic artist in our society.
"The best moment was probably after the lecture, when a student, a young girl, came to me and said 'You just gave me hope that I have the power to do what I really want to do if I focus and work hard enough. This is priceless, thank you'. As a matter of fact, that encounter alone demonstrates that graphic artists do have an influence on the society. What is this girl going to do tomorrow?"
